Susan T. Parker, MPP, PhD, is a research assistant professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine and Buehler Center for Health Economics and Policy at Northwestern University. Her research applies causal inference and machine learning methods to topics at the intersection of health and crime. Her current research on gun violence focuses on assessing the impacts of firearm policies such as permitless carry laws, firearm data quality, and policing efforts to reduce violence and solve violent crime. Her publications have appeared in Journal of Economics of the Household, JAMA Network-Open, and Preventive Medicine.
