Teresita Wisell serves as vice president of Workforce Development and Community Education (SUNY WDCE) at the State University of New York’s Westchester Community College (WCC). She leads a team that delivers workforce development, English as a second language, and lifelong learning programs to over 12,000 residents annually in Westchester and the surrounding region.
In 2008, Wisell founded and served as executive director of the Community College Consortium for Immigrant Education (CCCIE) until 2022. Hosted by SUNY WCC, CCCIE is a national network of community colleges and other organizations committed to expanding programs for immigrants and refugees and leveraging community colleges’ role in successful immigrant integration. She serves on the National Council for Workforce Education board and several local community-based organizations and chamber boards.
In 2014, the White House recognized Teresita Wisell as a Champion of Change for her efforts in workplace citizenship programs. She is a National Community College Hispanic Council fellow and a SUNY Chancellor’s Award recipient. Wisell holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations and an MBA in marketing. Wisell immigrated to the US from Cuba as a child.
