Christopher Henke

Chris Henke began teaching sociology at Colgate in 2001 and he specializes in courses on science and technology, work, the environment, and research methods. In addition to his work in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, Chris is the program director for Colgate’s Environmental Studies Program (ENST). In 2020, Chris was elected a trustee for the Village of Hamilton, New York, and he is dedicated to supporting Colgate, Hamilton, and the Upstate New York community through his research and teaching. Chris is also the author of Cultivating Science, Harvesting Power: Science and Industrial Agriculture in California (2008, MIT Press), and Repairing Infrastructures: The Maintenance of Materiality and Power (with Benjamin Sims, MIT Press, 2020).
