James R. Tallon, Jr.

Former President

James R. Tallon, Jr., a nationally recognized health care policy leader, was president of the United Hospital Fund of New York from 1993-2017. He previously served as a member of the New York State Board of Regents, headed the Health Care Policy Advisory Committee during the gubernatorial transition period in 2006, and is a former member of the boards of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, the New York Academy of Medicine, and the Center for Health Policy Development. He has held visiting lecturer appointments at the Columbia University and Harvard University schools of public health. Mr. Tallon represented Binghamton and parts of Broome County in the New York State Assembly for 19 years beginning in 1975.
