Rockefeller Institute of Government Announces Zan Strumfeld as New Fellowship Program Coordinator

Albany, NY — The Rockefeller Institute of Government is pleased to announce the appointment of Zan Strumfeld as its new program coordinator. In this position, Strumfeld will oversee the Institute’s diverse and expanding portfolio of fellowship programs, which play a vital role in shaping future generations of researchers and policy leaders and fostering innovative solutions to critical public issues.

The Rockefeller Institute’s fellowship programs include the prestigious New York State Science Policy Fellowship, which transitions PhDs in science, technology, and engineering into high-level public sector roles in New York State government. The Science Policy Fellowship, supported by grants from the Simons Foundation and the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, brings subject matter expertise to New York State leaders in the legislative and executive branches and provides fellows with hands-on experience in policymaking.

Strumfeld will also oversee the Institute’s Center for Law and Policy Solutions (CLPS) Undergraduate Research Internship, the Richard P. Nathan Public Policy Fellowship, and the educational component of the Empire State Fellows program, a distinguished full-time leadership training program run through New York State government.

“We are thrilled to welcome Zan Strumfeld to the Rockefeller Institute,” said Rockefeller Institute President Bob Megna. “Zan’s extensive fellowship management experience combined with a deep understanding of the policy landscape make her a perfect fit for this important role.”

“The Rockefeller Institute holds a unique position between academia and policymaking, and I’m excited to continue to build the bridges between these communities,” said Zan Strumfeld, program coordinator at the Institute. “I look forward to working with the Institute’s sponsors, members of the academic community, and policymakers at all levels of government to guide the expansion of the Institute’s fellowship portfolio and broaden its impact.”
