Founder of The New Hood and Director of Strategic Initiatives for the Black & Brown Collective for Community Solutions to Gun Violence
Talib Hudson, Ph.D., is the founder of The New Hood, a think tank dedicated to developing community-based public policy to build thriving urban Black and Brown neighborhoods. He is also the director of strategic initiatives for the Black & Brown Collective for Community Solutions to Gun Violence, a group of multidisciplinary researchers driven by a desire to improve the efficacy of research, policy, and practice that addresses safety and well-being in communities directly affected by violence. Dr. Hudson previously served as the director of research for the National Network for Safe Communities at John Jay College. His anti-violence work began with Street Corner Resources, a community-based organization in Harlem. He earned two master’s degrees and a doctorate in public and urban policy from The New School.
