Rebecca Valek is a research project coordinator at the Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) Gun Violence Prevention Research Center and a research assistant at the Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Violence Solutions. At OHSU, Rebecca’s research focuses on evaluating Oregon’s extreme risk protection order law through mixed-methods research, increasing timely access to firearm injury data, and building collaboration across sectors and communities to address the firearm injury epidemic through the Gun Violence Review Commission of Multnomah County. She also works with the Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Violence Solutions on the National Survey of Gun Policy.
Rebecca received her Master of Science in Public Health in Health Policy and Management from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in May 2024.
