Kimberly C. Burke is a postdoctoral fellow at Rutgers University in the New Jersey Gun Violence Research Center. Her research uses critical race theory and feminist perspectives to examine police violence and its disproportionate impact on communities of color. She earned a Ph.D. and M.A. in sociology from UC Berkeley, as well as a B.A. from Duke University and an M.A. from San Diego State, both in women’s studies.
