Kerri Raissian

Senior Research Specialist, School of Public Health, Yale University

Kerri M. Raissian is a Senior Research Scientist and a member of the Firearm Injury Prevention Initiative at the Yale School of Public Health. Her research focuses on child and family policy with an emphasis on understanding how policies affect family violence. Raissian’s research is interdisciplinary and draws on principles from program evaluation, economic demography, and applied microeconomics.

She’s currently working with prosecutor’s offices around the country to implement and test prosecutorial strategies for domestic violence cases. She is also researching if and how incentives can increase the uptake of secure storage.

Raissian is the Governor’s appointee to Connecticut’s Commission for Community Gun Violence Prevention and Intervention and co-chairs the Data and Evidence subcommittee. She is also a Senior Fellow at the Niskanen Center, an Arnold Ventures Criminal Justice Research Fellow, and the co-leader of the Connecticut Chapter of the Scholars Strategy Network. Finally, she was the founding director of UConn’s Center for Advancing Research, Methods, and Scholarship (ARMS) in Gun Injury Prevention prior to moving to Yale.
