Justin Pickett, PhD, is a professor in the School of Criminal Justice at the University at Albany, SUNY. He received his PhD from Florida State University in 2011 and was awarded the American Society of Criminology’s Ruth Shonle Cavan Young Scholar Award in 2015. Pickett has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles. His research is focused on determining the extent and correlates of firearm ownership in the United States, and on investigating public opinion about gun policy.
