Elyse J. Thulin, PhD, is a research assistant professor at the Institute for Firearm Injury Prevention at the University of Michigan. Dr. Thulin studies cyber violence and ways to leverage digital tools to prevent violence broadly, and school shootings more specifically. In particular, she is leading work on school-implemented technology-based anonymous/confidential reporting systems (sometimes called anonymous reporting systems, tip lines, or help lines) to better understand how to maximize these systems to prevent firearm injury. Dr. Thulin has published over 25 peer-reviewed research articles in journals such as Pediatrics, Nature Human Behavior, American Journal of Preventive Medicine, and Journal of Youth and Adolescence.
