The Rockefeller Institute of Government offers its sincere condolences on the passing of Dr. Joseph Burke, former director of higher education studies and senior fellow at the Institute.

In his time at the Rockefeller Institute, from 1995 to 2008, Dr. Burke conducted innovative, consequential research on higher education accountability and performance. He was an incisive, productive, and enjoyable colleague whose work will continue to inform higher education policymaking for years to come.
