Ayesha Dholakia, MD, is a pediatric emergency medicine fellow at Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School. She is a health services researcher whose work focuses on firearm violence prevention, with an emphasis on the role of structural and policy-level factors shaping firearm-related injury. Dr. Dholakia’s research has focused on national datasets to examine patterns of firearm violence. Her work has applied epidemiologic, geospatial, and multilevel modeling approaches to evaluate disparities in firearm injury, assess the impact of state firearm policy, and better understand how community-level risk factors influence violence. She is particularly interested in bridging research, policy, and public communication to reduce firearm-related harm and advance health equity among children and adolescents.
