PhD Student in Developmental Psychology, Teachers College, Columbia University
Emma Ehrenzeller is a first-year doctoral student studying developmental psychology at Teachers College, Columbia University. Her current research uses neuroimaging techniques to explore the impacts of gun violence exposure on the brain’s attentional and socioemotional systems. She is also interested in leveraging large, longitudinal datasets to understand how neural structure and function may be influenced by gun violence exposure as compared to other forms of violence. Outside of her research at Teachers College, she works with the University of Michigan on a mixed-methods evaluation of a gun violence-prevention program at elementary and middle schools in the south Bronx. Across her research, she is interested in merging public health perspectives with neuroscientific techniques to more holistically conceptualize the sequelae of gun violence exposure.
Emma completed her MS in neuroscience and education from Teachers College in 2024 and her BS in public health from the University of South Carolina in 2019.
