Please join us as the Fall 2019 undergraduate research interns from the Rockefeller Institute of Government’s Center for Law & Policy Solutions (CLPS) present their findings on the effects of student loan debt on college and career decision-making on Wednesday, December 11, at the Rockefeller Institute.
The growth of student debt in the United States is widely recognized. How debt affects college and career decision-making, however, is not well understood. To better understand how students think about debt before and while they are in college, CLPS interns conducted focus groups with students from the Capital Region. Their research identifies challenges students face navigating the financial aid process and offers policy recommendations for supporting them.
The undergraduate interns spent the fall semester studying this issue under the guidance of Rockefeller Institute Fellow Dr. Katie Zuber. Dr. Zuber leveraged Rockefeller Institute partnerships with the University at Albany, Hudson Valley Community College, and Empire State College to broaden the scope of this research across the three campuses.
